Anne-Margot Ramstein

Anne-Margot Ramstein was born on 5 May 1984 in Reunion Island.

She studied drawing in the illustration workshop of the Arts Décoratifs de Strasbourg under the direction of Guillaume Dégé. During her studies she did an exchange program in Boston (School of the Museum of Fine Arts). After graduating, she worked with Olivia Grandperrin at the Xavier Barral publishing house and collaborated with Matthias Aregui (author-illustrator) on the book l'ABC des Tracas (ABC of worries, troubles, anxieties, malaise... for children) which was published in 2011 (ed. Albin Michel Jeunesse). She moved briefly to Lyon and then to Montreal, where she stayed for three years. There she discovered the joys of shared workshops with artists from various backgrounds (video games, comics, animation). During these years, she worked on her editorial projects and drew for the French and foreign press. During this stay in Canada, she formed the collective Les Cousins, which produces installations, multimedia projects and responds to various and varied commissions. In collaboration with Matthias Aregui, she produced Avant Après (ed. Albin Michel Jeunesse) which won the Bologna Ragazzi Award. She finally left Montreal in 2015 to be a resident of the French Academy in Rome-Villa Medici for a year. This Roman retreat offered her the privilege of conducting in-depth research on allegories and ornamental frescoes. After Italy she returned to France, first to Paris, then to Strasbourg and recently to Charente-Maritime.

His latest book, La Perle, written with Matthias Aregui, was published in October 2021 (ed. La Partie).

Anne-Margot is currently working on projects with Hermès and on books that will soon be published by 2024 and La Partie.
