Emmanuel Guibert

Emmanuel Guibert was born in Paris in 1964. A major artist, he was consecrated in 2020 by the International Comics Festival by receiving the Grand Prix. He also became the first comic book author to whom the Academy of Fine Arts dedicated an exhibition.
Passionate about literature, painting and music, he is a touch to any scholar who multiplies experiences for our greatest pleasure. His exhibition "Guibert en bonne compagnie", which he will be showing from January 2021 at the Angoulême Museum of Fine Arts, bears witness to this true love for art by sharing his deepest intimacy with us.
His bibliography is abundant and touches all audiences. From Ariol with Marc Boutavant to the sardines from space with Mathieu Sapin, these youth series have now been in existence for twenty years with the same fervour from young readers.
But Emmanuel Guibert is an observational artist who takes the time to offer us powerful and moving stories where friendship always takes centre stage.
Le Photographe ("Aire Libre", Dupuis) is a trilogy of drawings and photographs by Didier Lefèvre, which tells from the latter's point of view the progress of a humanitarian mission he covered in Afghanistan in 1986.
Alan's War (three volumes from 2000 to 2008), Alan's Childhood (2012), Martha and Alan (2016) is a series based on the memories of Alan Ingram Cope, a young American soldier who landed in France in 1941.
His last two books, "Mike", a novel published by Gallimard and Légendes in the Air libre collection, are two new nuggets in his masterful work.
