Katherine Ferrier

Katherine Ferrier graduated from the École Européenne Supérieure de l'Image in Angoulême in 1991 with a degree in comic strip illustration; as soon as she finished her studies, she chose to move to Paris and turn to illustration. After an internship at Larousse, she worked for the press and children's publishing (Milan, Fleurus, Bayard, Hachette, Nathan, Magnard and Play-bac).

Parallel to her publications, she worked for seven years in a stylist's office at Du Pareil au Même and drew for trend books.

Back in Angoulême, in residence at the Maison des Auteurs, she returned to comics with the youth series, HÔTEL ETRANGE, which she drew and co-wrote with her scriptwriter, Florian Ferrier, published by Sarbacane. The first volume, "L'hiver au printemps", was in the official selection of the Angoulême International Comics Festival in 2011. Volume 4, "Ghosts in the Clouds", received the 2014 schools prize, also at the FIBD in Angoulême.

Today, she devotes most of her time to illustration and to this series, HÔTEL ETRANGE, which consists of six volumes. At the same time, she is also the author and illustrator of a comic book series in pre-publication in the magazine Manon (Milan-presse), Möun, dragon trainer, conceived in collaboration with the novelist Cécile Alix. This series will appear in the BDKIDS collection in January 2021.

Katherine Ferrier is also publishing her first children's novel in 2018: Les Fantômes D'Achille Plume which she illustrates and co-writes with Florian Ferrier.

A project for a series of children's novels "Hotel Strange " will be launched in 2021.
