Doriane Millet
Born in 1992 in Nancy, France, Doriane Millet is an author and illustrator living in Marseille.
His work is on the borderline between illustration, comics, and plastic arts. After a degree in textile design from the École Supérieure d'Arts appliqués Duperré, she moved to the "Illustration" section of the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Brussels, from which she graduated in 2018. In 2019, she joins a training course for Visual Artists (CFPI) at the École Supérieure d'Art & de Design Marseille-Méditerranée.
She is one of the Young Talents of the Angoulême 2018 International Comics Festival. She works on hybrid comic book projects. Her first book, Voyage Accompagné, establishes a game of playful metaphors between a couple's relationship and holiday activities. At the same time, she is working on a series of images printed in limited editions. She also conducts workshops in bookstores and associations, collaborates with art magazines and participates in exhibitions related to contemporary illustration.
Working in a hijacking mode, his series of images Changing the Scenery presents fairy tale characters taken from their usual setting to be transferred to a world that is uncomfortable for them: ours. Questions about the relationship we have between the ideal and the banal, between the marvellous and our daily lives, between imagination and reality, are omnipresent in his work.
